Street Turn Equipment Must be Booked Prior to Loading
The Rail-Bridge Transportation Rules Circular, Item 17, paragraph 1 states "For street turn shipments, where the Shipper sources an empty “K” Line container directly from a motor carrier and not from a CY or terminal, Shipper cannot book via REZ-1, but must contact RBC directly for a booking number."
This correspondence is a reminder that street turn equipment must be booked prior to loading. This reminder comes at a time when "K" Line is actively terminating leased containers at inland points, rather than on the West Coast. If these boxes are loaded prior to booking, Rail-Bridge efforts to terminate inland are compromised.
Please be sure to notify all of your operations staff that Rail-Bridge intends to rigorously enforce this booking rule and that non-compliance could result in your having to unload the un-booked container.
Thank you very much for your prompt attention to this very important matter. If everyone books equipment in the proper way, as outlined in the rules circular, there won't be any problems. Please contact your Rail-Bridge representative if you require assistance.
As always, your business is very much appreciated.
