Intermodal Terminal Consolidation of
Portland (Albina), OR into Brooklyn, OR
Announcement 2009-259
Effective: August 31, 2009

Dear Intermodal Customer,

Effective August 31, 2009, UPRR will be consolidating our intermodal terminal operations in the Portland Region into our Brooklyn, OR intermodal facility. Consolidating terminal operations at Brooklyn enhances drayage efficiencies, provides a single source for EMP domestic equipment and provides for future growth opportunities. 

The consolidation represents the first phase in UPRR'S overall commercial and operational strategy to take advantage of UPRR'S current Brooklyn facility and to provide capacity for future growth opportunities. Initially, UPRR will add an additional unloading track, three additional gate lanes and yard air; increasing capacity 45%. 

Service Schedules
*There will be no changes to service schedules with the consolidation.* 
Schedules previously applicable from/to Portland (Albina), OR will now apply from/to Brooklyn, OR. 
Existing service schedules to Brooklyn, OR will remain the same.

A detailed cut-over plan will be released in the upcoming days which will identify important dates regarding this transition.

Brooklyn, OR Hours of Operation:
24 Hrs, seven days a week

Location: 19th & SE Holgate Blvd., Building 1825, Portland, OR 97202
Directions: Off I-5 to McLoughlin, head south to Holgate St Exit. Travel 1/2 block past 18th Street and turn right into the Brooklyn facility.

  • Dallas (Mesquite) – August 24, 2009
  • Memphis – August 24, 2009
  • Chicago (Global 2) – August 25, 2009
  • Kansas City – August 25, 2009
  • Rochelle – August 25, 209
  • Omaha – August 25, 2009
